friends topic.

Throughout my process, I tried out many different topics. I chose the topic of friends because I wanted to show the relationships between friends in a more diverse way. I experimented with the lighting and different angles. I edited these photos using Photoshop to crop out parts of the back ground and covering the little bits of the blue screen that was still on show by clamping the white background over so it would bring out the photo, take the focus of the odd blue parts and brings more colour to me and Josh and makes us the subject,it also shows the relationship between us. Clamping the white bits to cover the blue made sure they was any distractions within the background.

Capturing friendships is one of the most common forms of photography. The success of platforms such as Instagram, people are most likely to post photos with someone in it. With a close friend or relative. Capturing the moment and memories that are special to them at that point in time when they are doing something special.

While taking these photos we used the soft boxes for the lighting, which made the Photoshop process easier as we didn’t have to change the lighting. We used the soft boxes to accentuate the 3D shape of the face and we also used the white paper for the background to show the contrast, using the soft boxes was a benefit taking the photos was much easier and better to Photoshop. All the different photos we took were to show how different friendships can be in front of a camera. We chose to do silly photos and normal photos to show this. We used different facial expressions and different ways of showing our friendship by laughing, pulling funny faces, pulling serious faces etc. I only wanted us to use the top half of our bodies through the use of midshots to focus in on our facial expressions and the eye contact that was given to represent the closeness and intimacy between two friends. The photo taking is spontaneous and represents our friendship.

We understand the friendships through photos by the way they is eye contact or the way they are acting within the photo. They could be serious or having a laugh which shows us the connection between them. In photo’s between friends its shows how comfortable the people in the photo are with each other and it shows us about each individual and there role within the relationship by the way they are acting within the photograph.
